Homemade Coffee Liqueur
Homemade Coffee Liqueur & Espresso Martini
As coffee lovers you can imagine how much coffee we go through each week. This coffee liqueur recipe is the perfect way to reuse any spent coffee. Use this to make a crowd pleaser cocktail at your next gathering with family and friends, the Espresso Martini!
Homemade Coffee Liqueur
Ingredients:
- 250g of saved spent coffee
- 1L Dark Brown Sugar Syrup (see recipe below)
- 1L Spiced Rum (or vodka, or whatever spirit you fancy!)
Method:
Make your sugar syrup by adding 750g of both Dark Brown Sugar & fresh coffee into a pan, we add orange peel & fresh vanilla. Bring to the boil to dissolve the sugar and let infuse and cool completely.
Soak your spent coffee grounds in your chosen spirit. Add your cooled sugar syrup & infuse in the fridge for 48 hours. Strain through muslin or a clean Jay Cloth.
Bottle and store in your fridge, it will keep for at least a month but we guarantee it will be gone long before then. Try serving it straight over vanilla ice cream or make delicious Espresso Martinis.
Espresso Martini
