The Cool Bride Guide

The Cool Bride Guide

This month, Holly spoke with Style Magazine to talk about the ultimate guide to being a cool bride. From two way dresses, taco stations to your very own content creator – this is the ultimate guide to becoming a modern bride. Here is her take on how to make the food a feast on your special day.

Make your own burrito station with each step on wood boards at various heights, on a wooden table.

Make the food a feast

For guests, the food is one of the most memorable and important details of the wedding so it’s vital not only to get it right but also to stand out from the crowd. One way that couples are doing this is by incorporating more interactive elements into the day, whether that’s for the main meal or for the arrival canapés or late-night snacks. Think oyster shuckers wandering about as guests arrive, offering different options for how they are served, or a burrito station where you can make your own hangover-defying concoction at 11pm.

“We are seeing couples opt for interactive food stations during their receptions to provide a fun and unique dining experience for guests,” says Holly Congdon of the catering firm Lettice Events. “For example, we are often asked for our taco stalls for wedding receptions. Whether the couple have visited Mexico or our famous among their friends or “Taco Tuesday’, it’s always a crowd-pleaser, especially served with our butterfly sorrel paloma cocktail.” Other ideas include dishes that can be made or finished at the table in front of guests such as fresh guacamole, steak tartare or crème brûlée.
